Death From Above (book 1) graphic novel $20

2019, 80 pages, large 9 x 12” perfect bound (softcover), full-color.

Get ready to let go of your deepest personal fears of death, dying and living as you take a fascinating, mind-bending walk through the landscapes of your own psyche with Death "herself."

Over 2 decades in the making. Unlike any "comic book" you've ever read. It's a meditation on death, and life...an extremely rare entry into the world of comics and graphic novels.

Death From Above is a self-published spiritual (not religious) graphic novel with gorgeous hand-painted watercolor art by American master artist Felipe Echevarria. It is designed to aid the reader in overcoming or lessening the fear of death and empowering one's life in the here and now. Going beyond mere entertainment, it's like a self-help book but with stunning hand-painted art. The combination of the art and the ancient hand-lettered scroll text is quite unique, and takes the comics genre into a new realm. This first book (which can stand on it's own) is actually part 1 and covers the issue of FEAR. A later book currently in the works covers LOVE. This first book on FEAR is heavy, but real and overall positive in approach.

Diamond-Studded Face Cage comic $10

2019, 34 pages, hand-drawn comic book with digital colors, 6.75 x 10.5" saddle-stitch softcover.

DIAMOND STUDDED FACE CAGE, an intense telling of an ethereal and haunting white-clothed model who upsets a boring 1990’s fashion show with a diamond-studded cage locked onto her face. She would be held back no longer…but is the world ready for the face-cage?

Originally completed in the mid-90’s, the original pen & ink art was shipped out to the publisher but was lost to the artist for 16 years. The work was finally recovered in 2013 and the dialogue-heavy story was assembled digitally in 2018-2019, and published in summer 2019. Here it is, warts and all, and kinda 90’s retro!

(Not final cover)

Hitchcock’s PSYCHO comic series $35-$85

1991-92, full-color 3-issue series comic book. The entire famous 1959 film adapted and hand-painted in watercolor by Felipe Echevarria in conjunction with Innovation Publishing and Universal Studios!

I do have some sets available, ranging from $35 to $85 depending on condition. Issue 3 is scarce, this is a very hard to find set, especially signed by the artist (me). I also did the story adaptation from the film to the comic. All are signed on the front covers, bagged and boarded.

Dark Shadows comic

1992, full-color comic book. This was based on the later Dark Shadows television series with Ben Cross. The interior story art was hand-painted in watercolor by Felipe Echevarria for Innovation Publishing. Like Hitchcock’s PSYCHO, this title is long out of print, it was the only issue from Volume 3 since Innovation Publishing went out of business shortly after.

STAKES comic

2013, full-color comic book with full-color ink and watercolor art. This vampire adventure thriller was designed to be an ongoing series, enthusiastically written by Todd Jones, but other projects stalled it out and only one issue was created. I don’t have any for sale, send an email to Todd Jones here (toddjones74@hotmail.com) if you’d like a copy.

KLOON storybook

Actually, this wonderfully illustrated all-ages storybook never came out. It is a dramatic coming-of-age story about the world’s greatest circus during the Turn of the Century in Paris, France. It was funded on Kickstarter around 11 years ago, then I spent 7 years on it and then it didn’t get published…yet.

I believe it still will come out, I’m in contact with the people responsible and the intention is still there. Life had taken some rather severe turns back then and some things changed (the story of my illustration/comics career). One day it should appear here, so far I’m thinking sometime in 2024 we may get back to it…

THE ANDES The Complete History of Mountaineering in High South America

2019, 840 pages, illustrated with photos and maps. This is one of my father’s books, his magnum opus; he was a prolific mountaineering author who wrote mostly about the mountains and folklore in South America. He was the source of information for climbing in South America and South American mountaineering history. He spent decades climbing peaks with over 100 first ascents, and compiling facts and information from several countries in South America to create this book, making 61 trips from here in the US during his lifetime. I was honored to work on this phenomenal book extensively, handling all the graphics and proofreading.

You can purchase it on Amazon here, and it’s available in paperback and Kindle. and as an iBook.

SUMMIT ARCHAEOLOGY The Epic of Prehistoric Ascents in the High Mountains of the World

2022, 160 pages, illustrated with photos. This is my father’s last book before he passed away in 2020. White modern climbers who thought they were doing a first ascent on very high mountain peaks were stunned to see that there were traces of indigenous peoples on the top. Someone had braved extreme cold and climbed the peak before they arrived! These peoples left behind artifacts in the form of prayer objects, stone and wood structures, weapons, and mummies.

Summit Archaeology proves that thousands of years earlier prehistoric peoples had ascended at least 380 mountains across five continents. These peoples braved ice, snow, altitude, weather, and distances without proper garments and footgear. To mountaineers the world over, these beings were our true forerunners.

I did all the graphics, photo editing and proofreading, and illustrated the cover. It’s available on Amazon here.
